Carole Falconer MCSP, SRP, is a bilingual physiotherapist, owner and founder of Sotogrande Physiotherapy Clinic having worked as a hands on physiotherapist around the world for the last 40 years..

After graduating from Newcastle University in 1983, Carole completed her specialist rotations in the major Newcastle hospitals. She then worked at Stoke Mandeville Hospital before setting up a sports clinic for BUPA in northern England.
Carole was the first woman in professional rugby, serving as physiotherapist to several professional Rugby League and football teams in the 1980s.

After that she moved to Canada, first taking up a sports and spinal injury position in Toronto, then working for the logging industry’s Workmen’s Compensation Board in Vancouver, treating major traumas such as spinal injuries and limb loss.
​
After Canada, she moved to Sotogrande, Spain, where in 1989, she started up Sotogrande Physiotherapy Clinic, now located in Pueblo Nuevo de Guadiaro.

With over 40 years in practice, Carole has vast experience as a general and sports physical therapist, treating many of the VIPs and sports professionals visiting Andalucia.
In addition to her sports therapy experience, Carole:

is also a trained Bobath technician, a method which rehabilitates stroke patients;

is a Cyriax osteopath having trained with James Cyriax himself at St Thomas Hospital, London;

is a hands on manual therapist using Maitland Mobilisation and McKenzie Exercise Regime;

uses Lymphatic Drainage Massage techniques and uses specialized electrical, ultrasonic and magnetic therapies to help restore lymphatic flow after surgery or injury;

uses Deep Trigger Point techniques and acupuncture for muscular contractures and spasms.
